These terms govern your use of CVBeat. They are written to be readable rather than impenetrable — please read them before using the service.

1. Acceptance of terms

By using CVBeat you accept these terms in full. If you disagree with any part of them, please do not use the service.

These terms apply to every CVBeat feature, including the ATS checker, job matching, the cover letter generator, the CV builder, and any future tools we add.

2. About CVBeat

  • CVBeat provides free, AI-assisted career tools aimed at UK job seekers.
  • The service is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis.
  • CVBeat is not a recruitment agency, does not represent candidates, and does not place anyone into employment.
  • Content produced by CVBeat is AI-assisted output, not professional careers advice, and should not be treated as such.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload CVs or documents containing malicious code, scripts or harmful payloads.
  • Submit false, fraudulent or deliberately misleading CV information.
  • Scrape, copy, reverse-engineer or attempt to replicate CVBeat or its output.
  • Use bots or automated scripts to make excessive or abusive requests.
  • Attempt to access the admin dashboard, our infrastructure, or any other user's data.
  • Use CVBeat in any manner that breaches UK law or any applicable regulation.
  • Resell or commercialise CVBeat's output without our written permission.

We operate rate limits to protect the service. Repeated abuse may result in your access being blocked.

4. AI-generated content

  • ATS scores, cover letters, CV improvements, job matches and any suggested wording are generated by AI models.
  • CVBeat makes no warranty that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, error-free, or suitable for a particular employer or role.
  • You must always review and edit AI-generated content before submitting it to an employer. You remain responsible for everything you send.
  • CVBeat is not responsible for any employment outcome, rejection, or missed opportunity arising from use of AI-generated content.
  • ATS scores are estimates derived from keyword and structure analysis. They do not predict, guarantee, or replicate the behaviour of any specific employer's applicant tracking system.

5. Job listings

  • Job listings are sourced from Reed.co.uk, Adzuna and Jooble through their official APIs.
  • CVBeat does not verify the accuracy, availability or legitimacy of any listing. Listings may be out of date or already filled.
  • CVBeat is not responsible for the content, conduct, or hiring practices of any employer or recruiter shown.
  • Selecting "Apply" takes you to a third-party website over which we have no control. Their terms and privacy policies apply from that point onward.
  • Never pay a fee to apply for a job. If a listing asks for payment or bank details, treat it as suspicious and report it to us.

6. Intellectual property

  • The CVBeat name, logo, code, design and branding are owned by CVBeat and may not be reused without permission.
  • You retain full ownership of your CV content at all times.
  • CVBeat claims no intellectual property rights over anything you upload, paste or build.
  • AI-generated cover letters and CV content are provided for your personal use, and we make no ownership claim over them.

7. Privacy and data

Your use of CVBeat is subject to our Privacy Policy. In summary, your CV text is processed in memory to produce your results and is never stored afterwards. Please read the Privacy Policy for full details of what we process and why.

8. Availability

  • We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
  • Features may be added, changed or removed at any time without prior notice.
  • The service may be suspended temporarily for maintenance, upgrades or to protect security.
  • Third-party dependencies — such as the AI provider or job board APIs — may fail independently of us and temporarily degrade certain features.

9. Limitation of liability

CVBeat is provided free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales, CVBeat accepts no liability for:

  • Any direct, indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.
  • Loss of employment opportunity, earnings or career prospects.
  • Inaccurate ATS scores, job matches or AI-generated content.
  • Service downtime, interruption or loss of unsaved work.
  • The content or conduct of third-party websites reached via job listing links.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify CVBeat against any claims, losses, damages or reasonable expenses arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.

11. Changes to terms

  • These terms may be updated at any time.
  • The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change whenever we revise them.
  • Continued use of CVBeat after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
  • Material changes will be signalled through the cookie consent banner version system so returning users are prompted to review.

12. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from them or from your use of CVBeat is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
